![]() The secret with this device is to make sure that all of the fittings are tight and that no air escapes (especially where the water comes out of the venturie and passes into the skimmer. I use one of the plastic clamps on this fitting. Also, when you first start it there is not normally anything collected for a day or so. This is normal and should not be cause for alarm. You should remember that the amount of waste collected is proportional to the amount of organic compounds dissolved in your water. Good tank maintenance habits = less waste collected. If you feed a little too much (bad idea), that food that dissolves in the water will end up in the collection cup. In article , Xdudimus Maximus wrote: mine works great inside my sump.
