oups.com... Hi, Is it a good idea to have a pleco in a tank with only goldfish in it? Can it survive? On the up-side, with all the food going through the Goldies, there might be lots of algae growing for the plec ;~). On the down-side, if there is no algae, there are big slow slime-covered Goldies for the plec to possibly bother (not all plecs are strict vegetarians, and hunger is a very good motivator). As a comment, plecs prefer soft warm well-oxygenated water, while Goldies tend more towards cooler more alkaline water. It's not a match made in heaven nor is it unsurvivable. Lots of folks do it, and others might say you shouldn't if you don't have to. If you know what to watch for, you decide. -- www.NetMax.tk |
