I would think it would also be affecting the gills of the fish and the eye problem
would be least of its worries. Ingrid

Saproglenia Fungus causes a cottony growth over the eye, and is treated by
malachite green, copper safe, or forma green. Since she has treated the pond
with malachite green for 10 days with no good results, that may not be the
problem. Here is a chart of fish eye disorders:

I don't know that this fungus affects the gills.
