Default KOI USA show this week!

Hi gang:
Anyone else from this NG attending the Koi USA show sponsored by the MAKC in
Chantilly, Virginia this weekend (besides RTB)?
Several of us will be getting together. It will be a nice chance to meet
some contributors to rec.ponds!
We can meet Friday night/other times as convenient...
I expect to bring 7 from our club here in WNY.
As I understand it, this will be one of their larger shows (last count was
56 or so show tanks (the 6 ft diameter ones).
Happy ponding,
Greg

Greg, enjoy Chantilly and bring back a lot of notes. I wish I could attend,
but it's out of the question. There will be some important information
disseminated at the lectures, especially about "KHV" . . . You'll be on Ray
Abell's home turf, so he should have some very nice fish to lust over G.
Have fun!

Lee

Lee: thanks!
Just got Nick St Erne's new book "Advanced Koi Care" for "Vets and
Professional Koi Keepers"... Looks like a very nice read, but will save it
until I return next week. We had draft of this book in the KHA program, so
it should be a quick review. Will let you know if anything jumps out in
Chantilly as far as KHA advances, etc. Eric Johnson will be there, and since
I have some info. to share with him, I had best be carrying his book with
me, not Nick's!!
RTB: A couple of us may be drafted to either man booths/assist with water
changes, etc., but Friday 4pm or so still sounds like a good time to meet
up...
FBCS: If you can meet up with Rich, (s we will see him again Saturday), we
should be able to meet with you as well!
See you in Chantilly..
Happy ponding,
Greg

Default KOI USA show this week!

I attended Friday evening and Saturday. It was my first time and loved it. I
would have never imagined a koi could grow sooo...... big. There were koi 3
and 4 ft long. I met RichToyBox, his lovely wife and sister. Thanks Rich
for showing me some of the equipment you use.

I did purchase (and I think I made a great buy) my new Sequence 1000 /
5800seq23 pump and a primer pot for $315 from AZponds.com. His web site list
this pump at a sale price of $319 w/o the primer pot and regular price is
about $350. So I am a happy ponder.

I also picked up two butterfly 5 - 6 in, trying to help them through
quarantine, it didn't look good for a while there. They are starting to perk
up some.

I already knew my pond was too small and not enough filtration, now I really
know it is too small. It has encouraged me to dig and dig and dig some more.

I awoke this morning to find my brand new 6in butterfly floating, dead. I
tried to care for him since he was brought home Saturday and quarantined.
Does anyone have a listing of the vendors w/ addresses. I would like to try
to get a refund or exchange a dead fish for a living creature.
