Default filter and pump question

So, what was the problem?

Problem solved. We tried taking the filter out of the loop and it seemed

to
work. Weve just added the filter back into it now and all seem to be

working
fine. Thanks for your help, we are new to pond keeping but are learning
rapidly! The fish seems happier now so im happy too.

many thanks

Cheryl

Is the filter full of water, also? Is it possible you have a return

valve
shut off? Do you use a priming pot? What happens when you fill the pot?

Can you get some photos posted?

Yeah my pump is above the water line .In the shed actually!
weve tried priming it but nothing.

The pumps been off all day now. Will the fish be ok with the filter

and
pump
going? they are swiming under the waterfall as if to say " OI! whats

going
on!"

cheers

Cheryl

I'm no expert, but I think it would help to know your set up. If

your
pump
is above the water level, then you probably need to prime it and/or

purge
the air out of the intake lines. Since the filter is pressurized,

the
air
trapped in the filter is pushing back against the pump.

Hi

Just bought a new Fish mate Pressurised UV-bio filter to replace

my
old
gravity box.
However my pump doesnt seem to want to work at all. It doesnt seem

to
be
sucking any water up. Weve cleaned it all out but nothing !
Is this anything to do with the new filter?
I know the pump is really old (think about 10 years maybe, we

inherited
the
pond when we moved in) but dont really want to have to buy a new

one
yet.

Any ideas anyone??

Cheers

Cheryl

Default filter and pump question

Not sure really might have been an air block .
As long as it works I'm happy with that.
