People taking things too seriously. It's FREE for crying out loud.
Don't use it for sending credit card numbers or letters to your six
concubines if you're a politician.
Sure, obviously there are security issues. If you're that
paranoid, don't use it for secure things, and quit whining about it,
frankly I'm tired of the drivel that has pervaded the net ever since
the launch of gmail.

I agree. These opponents dont realize that every other company does this too.
I work for an ISP and I know for fact that every email is archived and sent to
offsite storage. There are just too many subpoenas for sent emails in divorce
proceedings and such.

Very much off topic, but wondering if any of you would like an invite for
gmail. I have many to give away and not enough friends to use them up!

If you want one let me know.

I know I'D sure appreciate an invite, if you can swing it....

Thanks!

FWIW, gmail invites require a full name (fake for all they know, who
cares) and a valid email addy. I've recieved 6 requests for invites
with spoofed addy's, no names, or both.

Is it something that costs, or required an invite? Can I not just go and
sign up myself? Not really interested, but just wondering.

Its still in beta status even though I believe more than a million have signed
up. I've seen it down sometimes, but not for long.
