Yes. It's a gentle smell - like a pond or damp earth. It should not
smell fishy and never "foul."
=================
If there's a foul or fishy smell like me, as I often smell that way, its stagnant water or
water loaded with bacteria. If one of my tanks started to smell "bad" I'd
really go wild with theHoover vacuum. I'd make sure every inch of the gravel was
done. I'd clean the filter and add another filter for at least awhile. An
airstone would also help oxygenate the water and keep it moving. And lastly
I would use some good quality activated carbon for a week or so. A foul
smelling tank or in my case a foul nasty person is not a healthy . Which reminds me,
its time again for my bi-monthly bath.

Hopefully Koi-lo can avoid the temptation to reply or retaliate to
JimC's provocative and unethical post. Unethical because JimC's edited
words that people posted, in a way that's offensive, insulting and
provocative.

I will not reply to them. I just hope Richard (and others) checks the
headers and realizes I'm not the one posting *those messages* under the NYM
"Koi-Lo."

I agree. A change is in order. When you carry out your "not
responding", that includes not sending the "I did not write this"
message. If there should ever be a need for you to prove harrassment
or whatever, you must have plenty of proof in saved messages already.
And if all of our readers would take a second and check the headers
when they come across a message that doesn't sound right, then we can
carry on with the business of talking fish. I don't know how to check
headers in the programs most people are using, but in my Agent, as
well as Free Agent, depressing the "H" key brings up the headers, and
pressing it again disappears them.

I have some saved of course. But it's *ongoing* so I must make sure one
here and there are "marked" as time passes. I need not mark all of them.

Exactly, but not everyone knows how to do this or wants to bother. That's
what the trolls depend on.

For those using Outlook Express you RIGHT click on the message, click on
PROPERTIES, then click on DETAILS. There you can see who sent the message,
sometimes the ISP, the Newsserver involved, the trace, the message ID, the
news-reader the person is using and other details. Some trolls carefully
hide all or most of this information through proxies, remailers etc.
Not all newsservers show the person's ISP. In fact many now hide that
information for reasons of privacy.

Only people or animals involved with stirring the pot and abusing
various forums they do not agree with or have been told off in would
worry about having to read headers as its simply not a necessary item
for normal folks to have to do..............and its certainly not
normal to have to use multiple news servers and all the various user
names......all they do is try and cover their tracks in their abusive
ploy, and try and maintain thata look of honesty and being a victim in
other forums.........Yea, CArol aka Koi-Lo is nortorious at doing
this......and its amazing how many suckers she can convince she is the
victim that just come after her for no reason.........
