No coral. Only live rock and fish. I only dose kalk with top off water.
Do you ask because coral will bring my water out of spec? Why do you ask? |

Water changes are needed more for reef tanks than live
rock fish only tanks. That's not to say that someone could not do a reef tank without water change, but,,,,, There's a big difference with the need for water changes with fish, verses corals, especially if you have soft and stonies together. Again my nitrites, nitrates and ammonia levels are undetectable using store bought tests. My phosphates are also very low. Wayne Sallee Wayne's Pets Stoutman wrote on 9/7/2006 5:44 PM: No coral. Probably because coral 1) requires better quality water and 2) is part of the definition of a "reef" aquarium. Could you be more specific? What do you mean by "better quality water"? My nitrites, nitrates and ammonia levels are undetectable using store bought tests. My phosphates are also very low. My salinity is also on target. I dose with Kent Marine Essential Elements every three weeks. 2) is part of the definition of a "reef" aquarium.
