Kurt Larsen wrote: Can anyone tell me how to block with Outlook Express? First download and burn a DVD for linux, then install linux which will, with a single application, bring the virus load of your computer down to zero, then install thunderbird. After getting thunderbird setup with your news server, From the menu, use tools, message filters. Sorry, I couldn't resist. :-) But I hope you know why there are not many viruses for linux... Not that the system does not allow it - it is simply not popular and virus does not have enough host bodies to be pandemic ;-) p.s. How can you bring the number of viruses to zero if this is zero already? |

To block with LookOut! express, look for message

OK think I have the idea...is there a way to run it on past messages, or will it only work on future messages that come in? Wayne's right - it won't work on messages you've already downloaded. George Patterson Worry doesn't improve the future; it just ruins the present. |

Got it working. Now just need to figure out who else to add to the clean list ![]() When you add people to your lists, be very specific about your info. Given the situation we're seeing right now, you wouldn't want to add "KurtG" to a killfile or clean list; you would want to get more specific on the address. One thing I think is a defect in T-bird is that there is no way to set up a killfile based on the path. It would be great if we could block stuff from a particular computer without depending on stuff the troll enters. George Patterson Worry doesn't improve the future; it just ruins the present. |

Yea, you can't do as much on Tbird with newsgroups,
as you can with e-mail. I don't know why they give all the same options for newsgroups that they give for e-mail. Wayne Sallee George Patterson wrote on 12/7/2007 11:57 PM: Big Habeeb (a.k.a. You are watching too many Apple commercials on TV and your opinion about pc/windows is skewed and distorted ;-) I like pc better than Apple, but those commercials are funny making fun of Microsoft and their buggy software. But the more they advertise being virus free, the more likely hackers are going to start targeting Apple just for the fun of it. Wayne Sallee |
