Default Stereo stays on without keys in ignition

This morning a very odd thing happened with my 1998 Honda Civic EX. I
pulled up to work with the stereo on, turned off the car and pulled
out my keys but the radio kept playing like the keys were still in the
ignition. I started messing around w/ things to figure out why it was
happening. I had my AC Power Inverter plugged in but turned off. When
I turned it on or unplugged it, the radio does NOT stay on with the
keys removed from the ignition. When I plug it in but keep it turned
off, the radio will work w/o the keys. I cannot figure out what is
going on…. Does the inverted in the ‘off' position somehow complete a
circuit that allows the radio to stay on? Any other ideas? Is this
something I need to get looked at or is it not worth the expense?

Sounds like an improvement ( that the radio is usable without needing
ignition keys ). I had to make hard pressure on volvo to have my
company cars radio working without ignition key.
