Coolant Leak: Alfa 87 Graduate
Hi,
I am new to this group, I think I have a fairly easy question - I just hope it's not what I think it is. Let me start by saying the car has run beautifully all summer (I have had it for 3 years with no major problems. Ok, on a specially scorching day here in Tennessee I was idling my Alfa for around 18 mins, when I finally started to drive my engine coolant gauge shot up to the red. I immediately pulled over to discover my engine coolant boiling. Turned off the engine until everything cooled down, all seemed fine on the way home. Arriving home I found my coolant poring out from the bottom of my engine. Looking under the hood I could see it actually spewing out from the front bottom of the engine. I have a feeling it is a blown head gasket.... but I am an amateur with a capital "A" so I am not entirely sure of what I am looking at. If any one has any information it would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards, Kevin Stone |

If it was *really* coming from the engine, I would suggest you take it to a specialist. If the head is warped that muhc, it's no place for an Amateur...... -- Catman MIB#14 SKoGA#6 TEAR#4 BOTAFOF#38 Apostle#21 COSOC#3 Tyger, Tyger Burning Bright (Remove rust to reply) Alfa 116 Giulietta 3.0l (Really) Sprint 1.7 75 2.0 TS Triumph Speed Triple: Black with extra black bits www.cuore-sportivo.co.uk |
