stone dinks on headlights
Ah, drive I-95 and you will ineviateably meet with flying debris.
So now I have tiny little dinks (stone pits) in my headlight covers. Does anyone know if there is a way to remove these pits? I read on a Lexus board that someone used Brasso?Thanx. marx404 |

The concern I have to using things like this, is that it might difuse the light too much(from the microscopic scratches). So, I don't know enough about doing this to recommend it, but you should be able to do a search for polishing compounds on headlight lenses and find some answers. hth, tom @ www.CarFleaMarket.com |

These "abrasive" polishes will almost certainly remove the Ultraviolet
coating from the plastic lenses. This means that they may turn yellow over time from exposure to sunlight diminishing their output. This may require making this polishing routine part of your future maintenance or in the worst case, dictate complete replacement of the headlamp lenses. I am not saying you should not do this, but just suggesting you seek additional experience from those who have done it previously before you take any action. Good luck. One would think that the lens should be a replaceable part rather than
having to change out the entire headlamp assy. Never seems to work out that way in reality. I wonder if anybody makes a clip-on cover for the headlight front? Sounds like a good product idea... "marx404" > wrote in message ... > Ah, drive I-95 and you will ineviateably meet with flying debris. |
