Yes, but over here in the States, the Left is trying to silence anybody to
the right of them. That includes most moderates. They've been trying since
Clinton took over in 1993. They're espeically upset since GW won in 2000
and 2004. And they're not happy about the "Contract with America" that took
their power away after the "Hillary Healthcare" disaster in 1994. They
think power is theirs by divine right and anyone arguing to the contrary
should go to the gulags. That is why they must never be allowed to have
power ever again. Look at the mess they've made in the 6 months since they
took back Congress. All sorts of BS, lots of heat, very little light.

And there are still some people who believe the moon landings were faked.
It takes all kinds.

The "man-made global warming" crowd is entirely religious. The entire
movement is ecclesiastical in nature, and its church is Mother Nature.

I think you ignored part of what Fred said because it's not exciting.

The same changes that will reduce pollution (a good idea that nobody
disagrees with) may come with a bonus, ***IF*** it turns out that our
burning of fossil fuels contributes to global warming.

Get it?

Work to fix a problem that everyone agrees is a problem, and maybe you get a
bonus in terms of minimizing another problem. Of course, this sentence is
only true for people who acknowledge that some places have nasty air quality
problems.

So then I would like to put you in jail, permamently. Because you
***MIGHT*** one day commit murder.

EPA studies show the air to be 57% cleaner now than it was in 1970. And
that's in absolute terms, not relative ones.

Bad analogy. All sentient beings agree that smog is bad, and the various
ways of reducing it have been 100% accepted for many years.

Here's another analogy: Your doctor says if you don't lose weight, you've
got a good chance of having a fatal heart attack within the coming year.
Bonus: It might also help with your knee problems.

Wanna put your doctor in jail, too?

So, continuing to improve it is a bad idea?
