145 seat height problem
Hi, i have a 1999 Alfa 145. Its a lovely car but with one really annoying
problem. Every time i get into the car i have to drop the seat back down as it seems to raise itself up when i get out. Its a gradual thing and probably takes 30 minutes for it to go up, but is very annoying. I took a look under the seat but could not see anything to tighten / adjust. Does anybody know how i could fix this problem... TIA, Mark |

There is a lever a bit like a handbrake between the seat and the door and you pull on this to get the driver's seat where you want it. If you have this then perhaps the mechanism which I assume to be hydraulic has failed. Hope this helps a bit John Chapman |

Yes, i have the same system. either something has came loose or that
hydraulic piston which i assume is responsible for pushing the seat up is exerting too much force. Thanks "John Chapman" > wrote in message ... > My 1999 146 comes complete with a height adjustment for the driver's seat. > There is a lever a bit like a handbrake between the seat and the door and > you pull on this to get the driver's seat where you want it. > If you have this then perhaps the mechanism which I assume to be hydraulic > has failed. > Hope this helps a bit > John Chapman > > |

hmm, looks like it. i think i will have to live with it for the time being
as i don't fancy leaving my car and wallet at the alfa dealers... Cheers, Mark "John Chapman" > wrote in message ... > > "Mark N" > wrote in message > ... >> Hi, i have a 1999 Alfa 145.
