Default Durango Splitter Seal Leak?

My wife took our 98 Durango into a local Dodge service shop this afternoon
to get the oil changed. They made a few notes on the invoice - a couple
being:

SPLITTER SEAL $190.35 LEAKS
REAR DIFF SERVICE $59.95 LEAKS

I'm a newbie so can someone tell me what the splitter seal is? I guess it
may have something to do with the transmission fluid? Does it really cost
that much to fix a seal?
Also, is the differential service required at this time? My mileage is 60k
right now.

Any comments? Thanks.
