I Wish There Were More Cops Like Bill Goldberg!
Today's episode of "Automaniac" on the History Channel featured police
cars. In the last segment, the host, driving a Crown Vic, pulls a driver over and gives him a ticket for driving 15 MPH *below* the speed limit. I guess I'm not the only one who thinks Sloth is a criminal offense! |

The speed limit doesn't just apply to driving too fast. While minimum speed limits are usually not posted, they do exist. It is unfortunate that Bill Goldberg is the only cop in recorded history who has ever enforced the minimums, though. -Dave |

Minimum Speed Limits makes it virtually impossible to travel on Public
Highways using any Locomotion other than the Locomotion Ordinarly used, the Automobile. We have a Right to Travel on Public Highways. "Undoubtedly the right of locomotion, the right to remove from one place to another according to inclination, is an attribute of personal liberty, and the right, ordinarily, of free transit from or through the territory of any state is a right secured by the 14th Amendment and by other provisions of the Constitution." - Williams v. Fears, 179 U.S. 270 (1900) - http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/cgi-bi...&invol=270#274 We have the Right to the Locomotion Ordinarily used for Personal Travel on our Public Highways. |

He hosts a new program (Discovery channel, I think?) called Automaniac. Basically, the program seems to celebrate driving, especially as it relates to being behind the wheel of classic muscle cars and other vehicles with high horsepower to weight ratios. The last episode was supposed to center around cop cars. I didn't catch that episode, but I take it Bill Goldberg cited someone (on camera) for driving too slow. -Dave |
