Maybe you'll be able to take advantage of a tax incentive at some
point, and make back all the money you've lost on this one and
others.

'Cash for clunkers' breaking down, but not before hurting lower income
buyers, recyclers.
www.freerepublic.com

I Agree, cash for clunkers is a stupid idea. Some of those clunkers might
be collectible/clasic cars/pickup trucks/vans.

Your vehicle must be less than 25 years old on the trade-in date.

Only purchase or lease of new vehicles qualify.

Generally, trade-in vehicles must get 18 or less MPG (some very large
pick-up trucks and cargo vans have different requirements).

Trade-in vehicles must be registered and insured continuously for the
full year preceding the trade-in.

You don't need a voucher, dealers will apply a credit at purchase.
Program runs through Nov 1, 2009 or when the funds are exhausted,
whichever comes first.

The program requires the scrapping of your eligible trade-in vehicle,
and that the dealer disclose to you an estimate of the scrap value of
your trade-in. The scrap value, however minimal, will be in addition to
the rebate, and not in place of the rebate.

About seven something years ago, a guy and his family used to live in
the house across the street from me.He drove a Pepsi Cola tractor
trailer rig.One day I looked over there and there was a 1969 Cadillac
car sitting in his driveway.About a week or so later, there was another
Cadillac about the same age as the 1969 Cadillac sitting over there, two
old Cadillacs.I Applaud the guy for collecting those old cars.

The only car that might come close is the Supra, and I doubt that's
happening. Esp since I just spent half the day putting in new ball joints...

Those were kinda cool cars, and that engine is hard to kill. Toyota
licensed them for the FJ40 LandCruiser (jeep style) and used them for a
long time.

You aren't in Mass, are you? I saw a root beer colored one a couple weeks
ago.

That ain't happening!

I paid $600 for it, and the value has been rising steadily ever since.
