Default Speedometer Troubles

Hi,
I just bought a 91 Grand Am, and I found out that my speedometer isn't
working. Is this a speedometer cable, or is it electronical? The
previous owner had the transmission rebuilt, so i'm guessing that the
speedometer has a bad connection, or isn't connected at all to the
transmission. I can't find the location of where it attaches the
transmission though. Does anyone know where the speedometer connects to
the transmission? (2.5 automatic)

Thanks,
Gary

This is a computer driven speedo, no cable.

There's a sensor near the rear of the transmission. The connector
may have fallen off, or a wire might be broken.
