Default 2002 CRV and MAINT REQUIRED LIGHT

Any idea how to find out what the maint required light means? - I'm at a
little over 42,000 miles. Does this just mean I am due for a service like
40k maint or something?

Is there another light that comes on if there is a problem?

-------------------

It's all in the warranty manual, but they probably don't mention the
Dual Pump Fluid in the rear differential. Get it changed every 30,000
miles or couple years. Are you getting a sick scraping / rumbling noise
when you crank a slow, tight, left-handed U-turn? It may sound like it's
coming from the front, or a dragging rear brake.

You can do 90% of the stuff yourself, like rotate the tires, inspect all
the liquids, change the cabin filter(s), spray some LockEase in all five
locks. Sign in and look in the ARTICLES,

hondasuv.com for all the rest.

I believe that the maintenance required light is simply a counter, it's
not a "smart" indicator. In my civic, it lights up every 10,000 miles.
When you (or the mechanic) resets it, then it'll start counting 10,000
miles again.

You're probably thinking of the check engine light.
