temperature gauge
The '93 Accord uses a "dual-bobbin" type temperature and fuel gage.
So either an open on the ground side of the meter or short to ground on the sending unit side can cause this symptom. Of course, the meter could just be faulty too. After overheating has been eliminated. Check the open circuit voltage at the temperature sensor wire, with the IG switch turned to Run(II); there should be about 6 volts. Less than 6V. could be caused by a short to ground on the wire; while more than 6V. could be an open (or high resistance) in the meter ground circuit. wrote: > in my 93 honda accord, on which temperature gauge goes red mark. > but car seems like it is at normal temperature. -- Tp, -------- __o ----- -\<. -------- __o --- ( )/ ( ) ---- -\<. -------------------- ( )/ ( ) ----------------------------------------- No Lawsuit Ever Fixed A Moron... |

Of course, the > meter could just be faulty too. Good point. A symptom of that is the temperature gauge going straight to red on startup. -- Tegger The Unofficial Honda/Acura FAQ www.tegger.com/hondafaq/ |
