Default Polo 1997 1.6ltr petrol

Hi folks,

Just purchased a polo with 41,000 k's with service records and absoluty love
it but....notice a very slight humming noise at idle. Finally traced it to
the vicinity of fuel pump access hatch under rear seat. My question is that
is this normal for polo's or is something on the way out.The noise is just
audible to the ear but once u are aware of it it's a pain in the u know
what.Any feed back would be appreciated

Dave
