Default Help with after-market security system identification and uninstall

I have a 2000 Ford Focus that was purchased used from a Ford
dealership. I was told by the sleaz-man that it was factory installed
(as well as a few other compontents...sunroof, etc.) and found out
after the purchase that, in fact, they are after-market and therefore
not covered by the extended warranty. I have had problems since day
one (a few years ago) and now have a dead battery and the alarm system
acting up. The dealer that I purchased from services the car. I had
them replace the battery. (it died suddenly, so I didn't know if it
was actually just the battery)

I told them that if they needed to, they could disconnect the alarm if
they needed to. They did, but when I went to pick up the car, it
wouldn't start. It seems that besides the flashing LED that was
drilled into the steering column, there was also a button drilled into
the side panel by the door. I, the entire time of owning the car, had
NO IDEA it was there! Now it seems the only way to start the car is
to hold the button and turn the key at the same time.

The car is still at the dealer and I'm going to find out tomorrow if
they can completely disconnect it or not. What I'm wondering is if
there is a way to help the dealer figure out the make of the security
system in order to disable it completely. Who in their right mind
would want to poke so many holes in a car and make a security system
so complex that you could never remove it? I'd rather not have the
system installed as the dealer thinks it might be draining the battery
and could be why I've had electrical system problems from the start.

Any advice?
