Quick question. I seem to be dealing with an outbreak of cyanobacterium.
(Which really makes me PO'ed given my weekly 15 percent water changes with
RO water and light fish load. So the question, what is the major cause of
this algae outbreak? Is it an excess of DOC? It doesn't make sense for it to
be Nitrates or Phosphates. My levels are LOW LOW LOW. I suspect I just need
better skimming but would like the groups opinion.

Mine was a matter of water flow. I had all my maxijets on a wavemaster pro,
I took them off that for constant flow and the cyno never came back.

I've read
http://netclub.athiel.com/cyano/cyanos2.htm
It's rather old.
Buying potasium permanganate is easy, but will it work? How to dosage it?

"My levels are LOW LOW LOW."
Well.... I do not know in your term of "Low" mean.
My *Low* for A/N/N will be "0.1". Anything reading "1.0" will be mid and
anything above that is high. So, please explan what is low in your term?
