View Full Version : can convicts eggs survive without their parents in the tank?
They keep laying eggs and eating them, I have two females and one male
in a 10 gallon tank. Whats wrong? do i need a bigger tank? is it the
water? more food? :( I wanna have babies! please help me.

I'm guessing that the tank is too small. The parents may be eating the eggs
so as to prevent the third fish from getting to them. A pair of convicts
probably should have a 29 gallon tank or bigger.

I have had great success with breeding convicts in 10 gallon tanks. However,
I always kept only the mated pair in the tank. Try removing the extra
female.
