Clown Loach by
GloFish
Good Morning! (afternoon/evening)
Got a quick one, I hope.
45 gallon real and fake plants, tropical freshwater community, mostly
livebearers, a few cories, danios, 2 clown loaches and 1 common pl*co.
I have read tons on the clowns, I know they often appear dead, just to
get up and swim away,...

juwel filter by
Stefano
Hi,
The juwel compact filter has four compartments.
The first one is the thin blue sponge, then there is a gap, then the coarse
blue sponge, then another blue sponge and then carbons and a white layer on
top. Is this correct?
Instead of having two coarse blue sponges I have a blue and a...

Q on Paddle tailed Newt. by
[email protected]
Saw one at the pet store the other day in with the ADFs, and though it'
would make a way cool addition to my menagerie. Before I take the plunge,
I want to find out more.
Are they social, solitary, or indifferent? Should I get one, or two?
Would they cohabit well with African American Dwarf...

Guppies Dying - Think it's My Water by
Lady Samsara
I recently moved and now have well water. The pH runs 7.6 (and reads 8
in the tank), hardness 150, alkalinity 120 and nitrates 20 ppm!(right
from the tap). I have started using Amquel Plus to help with the
nitrates along with NovAqua. My Betta seems fine (though I did lose
one Betta right after...

Stefano
Hi again,

I have an issue with the air kit which is attached to the filter pump.
No air bubbles is coming out of the filter.
At first like an idiot i put the venturi kit in the water then realised that
it should be left out in the air.
Still no bubbles...

Pimafix Dosage Rate ????? by
blank
Pimafix does not have a dosage rate on the bottle. I googled it but the
only reference I could find says 16 oz per 960 gal.
Is this daily (like Melafix) or weekly or what the hell is a person supposed
to do? Sorry if I sound cranky, but I am.

My Keyhole Cichilds Just Spawned! by
Brad
I came home from work today, and there are a bunch of beige/grey eggs on the
slate in the 10 gallon tank! I just moved these guys into the tank just 3
weeks ago, getting them out of my 75 gallon which they shared with 5 large
severums, 8 skirt tetras, 4 corries, and a few ottos. The severums...

What do you do when....? by
RedForeman ©®
When you're favorite fish, a 14" pl*co, becomes too big for the tank he was
supposed to 'spend eternity' in, and has become too obnoxious, and almost
aggressive that he knocks over rocks, stirs up gravel, generally creates a
nuisance of himself....
I don't want to get rid of him to an LFS that...

My axolotls have laid eggs again. Based on past experience in

having his back legs grow, but then disappeared.
So this time I'm partitioning off the eggs as usual but thinking

Upside down Molly and bulged eyes. by
Jbutterflie
I noticed this morning my molly upside down and somewhat tilted to the
side at the top of the tank. Then later noticed his eyes bulging. I
first assumed it was swim bladder problems. Then pop-eye. Maybe it's
dropsy.. ???
I did get some maracyn two - maybe this will help.
I'm just confused b/c...

help for newbie by
Stefano
Hi all,
just bought a juwel tank.
I've already made loads of mistakes.
1) I put the treatment for chlorine in the full tank rather than in the
buckets prior to putting the water in.
2) I've left the carbons in whilst doing the above (i guess this will cancel
out the water treatment).

Hagen AquaClear 20 question by
Andrey Tarasevich
Hello
I recently purchased a new AquaClear 20 (former AquaClear Mini) HOB
filter to replace my old Penguin Mini Bio-Wheel. The previous filter
worked fine, but I wanted to have wider flow adjustment range of
AquaClear since the tank is small (5.5 gal) and reducing the flow in
Penguin resulted in...
