I picked up a half dozen juvenile saulosi awhile back and have noticed that
one is showing black on his dorsal and ventral fins much like one would see
on a L. caeruleus. The buy I got them from claims they are not hybrids
however I have not been able to find a description of P.saulosi...

Cichlids are KILLERS ! by
Noah Body
I have never ever owned a single cichlid, but I bought two at the fish store
because they were on sale. These fish have ripped the tails and dorsal fins
off of my puffer fish, my Cory catfish and anything else in the tank. Before
they kill everything in the tank, I removed them and put them in...

little white worms by
Sconad
Hey y'all...
I've been a cichlid owner for nearly ten years now, and way back when I
first started I had a mild problem with those little white worms. I
followed SOME treatment that got rid of them, but I can't for the life
of me remember what it was. I noticed a few of these things...

Getting back into fish by
Josh Mills
Hi all,
I'm finally getting back into cichlids after 15 years. I haven't yet
settled on a tank, I'm thinking something between 55 and 80, or so. I
need a tank no more than 4 feet long. I saw an 80 gallon tank at petco
for $180, is this a good deal? I saw a 55 gallon rig at walmart for
$152, but I...

Tank cycling done yet? by
Texas Yankee
I have a 55 gallon tank that I just started again - filled it with holy rock
and water, running an Emperor 400 with a powerhead sponge filter running to
promote water movement. I tossed in 5 black mollys and 5 marble mollys to
start the tank and after a couple died, the water went from cloudy...

SAEs in Aggresive cichlid tank? by
Leong Goh
Just back from a 4 week holiday and found quite a lot of algae on the plants
in my cichlid tank ( 4in texas, 4in Green terror, 5x2in Firemouths, 3x3in
bristlenose). I know SAEs will take care of this as they have in other
tanks, and am considering putting my two largest (approx 5in) into this...
