Damaged Oscar by
Dave Thompson
I have a pair of Oscars about 6 inches long (so far!) in a 125g tank that
are for all observations healthy and typical. The other day I came down and
found that one had ripped the pectoral fin of the other clean off - nothing
left. I've kept Oscars for a while so I'm used to damage but I've never...

Silver Dollars & Blue-eyed Cichlids by
JazzyB!
What's your opinion of keeping 4 silver dollars with 1 or 2 blue-eye
cichlids?
I currently have an empty 40 gallon tank. I'm looking for suggestions on
what to include with my 4 silver dollars.
Thanks,
Jay

Blood Parrots by

All I have to offer is my personal experience. This is an invaluable
tool when relating to others with respect. Once someone starts
"shoulding" on me they get my back.
But then we all have those little obligations that we must adhere to
related to our family and up bringing, "Pauley, don't show...

HELP! ..:O Nitrite the lesser of 2 evils? by
Kodiak
I have a 220 gallon tank with 6 red devils about
4" long each. Unfortunately the tank was new when
I started (Jan 4th) so I used Biozyme to jumpstart the
bio filter. The Ammonia spike was not so bad i never
hit above 2ppm and just for a few days and i did a few
25% water changes just to be...

Typical spawn size of N. similis? by
Cichlidiot
Hey all, I was wondering if anyone knew the typical spawn size of N.
similis. I had two wild females have spawns last month. One female shortly
thereafter lost a territorial dispute with a rival male (her mate was so
badly damaged I had to move him to another tank, I'd move her too except
she won't...

My near dead angel is back by
Jim Morcombe
A several months ago I put a rather agresive angel into my "hospital" tank
because it kept beating up the other Angels.
Amongst a series of incidents I squashed him with a sharp piece of slate and
took a great chunk out of his side.
The hole never seemed to heal and at one stage he was lying flat...

Our Cichlids - their short tragic history by
aacool
We entered the hobby a few weeks back, and have a small 5 gal
aquarium running, apparently well, and decided to up the ante.
Well, we setup a planted aquarium round about christmas, and
added a few tetras, the ammonia spike happened, then subsided.
We read about bio-spira. So we rushed out, and...

Help: Gill worm on a red zebra? by
Akom
Hi,
I have a Red Zebra Malawi Cichlid which has a black string about an inch
long dangling out of one gill. Both gills appear to be red and swollen.
All the gill worm descriptions I was able to find describe white/green
worms which are barely measured in millimeters... this seems not be fit

Questions about positioning a 45G tank by
SA
Hi all,
I have a 45G tank in my living room running for few months now, my concern
is that because it is in the middle of the room span every time someone
walks by there is a slight vibration and I can see the water and the tank
shaking a bit. The other day I had couple of little kids visiting and...

Getting Oscar(s) by
Laura Dawson
I have always wanted an Oscar or oscars and now I have a 55 gallon
tank. I think I need special filtration don't I? Also how many can I
keep in a tank that size, I know they can get quite big. Any info is
greatly appreciated.

Speaking of Oscars by
Keith J.
A lot of people wish this was true, but it's not. Oscars grow to over 10
inches long, no matter the tank size. Assuming they don't die from disease
or poor water quality first.
