Red Zebra-Kenyi by David Ritter
I have two in a 10 gallon while they are still small. Only 1.25 -1.5 inches each right now. How fast do they grow? Why do they fade colors? From day one, the the stripes would fade on the zebra, but in the last few days, they both fade out almost to white. -- David

Sand look or crushed coral look? by Bchbound
I was at the fish store today and saw Atlantic crushed coral that was crushed so fine it looked like sand. I like the idea of the sand look (which is actually crushed coral which maintains water quality)and will go with it unless there is a good reason not to. What are the pros/cons vs the crushed...

I have a 20 gallon tank with a large batch of Cich. Spilurum fry. I'm using a mini Aqua Clear filter with a sponge that covers the intake strainer. I'm hoping there won't be too many casualties with overly curious fry checking out that sponge.... Suggestions here? Are daily H20 changes with my...

mixing cichlids by Wellman
Is it safe to mix any cichlid as long as they're from the same lake? I'm thinking of changing my 30 gal tank to a small cichlid tank. Very colourful ones would be nice. Any suggestions? Martin

how do various cichlids signal their fry? by Ukyou Kuonji
I'm curious about this... I know that krib fry is attracted to the red belly of their parent and stop moving as soon as that belly is out of sight, but observing my severums I wonder how those fish signal their fry. it'd be nice to have a list here of observations of parents handling their fry,...
