Anyone in the path of Hurricane Dennis?
Crossing fingers for you. This just doesn't
seem very fair!
Was it Rich that posted a hurricane primer?

I read on another board about lowering your

New Pond: need help selecting pond plants......... by
Ann505
Hi All,
I just installed a 220gal above-ground preformed pond in my
backyard. I know it's a little late in the season to be putting in
plants, but living in Louisiana I'm hoping it won't matter. I am also
building a small 30gal veggie filter. Now here's my first problem, I
put the pond under a...

building an inline filter system. where can I buy the bits from? by
Daniel Finn
Hi,
I am thinking of getting a new filter system so could I use my current
ecocell 2200 filter with no media in it but use it as a settlement
chamber by removing the internal piping so water is pumped into the top
and then also flows out at the top into another filter so sediment falls
to the...

Testing an Aqua UV? by
Bob A
My 25 watt Aqua UV stopped working and I'm not sure if it's the bulb or
transformer. The bulb is only 3 months old but the transformer is over 3
years old. I don't have another bulb to test. Anyone know what kind of
voltage (I believe it's AC )that comes out of the transformer? I say I
believe...

Underwater halogens & goldfish by
[email protected]
I've moved into a house with an outdoor goldfish pond/water feature
(220 x 55 x 15cm). This contains two underwater halogen lights which
look great at night, but knowing how hot these get normally (in air)
are they likely to heat the water enough to be any danger to the fish?

Hard water by
billfish
The high GH is not due to sea shells as there are none in the pond at
present. I'm not a geologist soI cant say what the exact makeup of the
water catchment is here. I do know however that the majority of the
rock which forms the island is granite and other very hard rocks of
that type. There are...

lime jello algae? by
Pam
Today I have lots of large globs of stuff that looks like melted lime jello.
It is on the water hyacinth roots and the azolla roots to the point of
dragging the azolla under water. It is forming on the lily pad stems. It
has taken over the kiddie/pool/veggie filter overnight and has started...

filter for 250 gal outdoor pond - how to make? by
Lyn
How do I build a small
flowerpot filter or waterfall filter?? I have been told that with my
250 gal. outdoor water garden (lots of plants and mosquito fish) that
is all the filtration I need. I plan to use either a pondmaster or Mag 3 or
5 pump.
Thanks

Hard water is really not a problem.
Sorry. When I typed in my post I didn't realise this forum doesn't
support "more than" arrows. It should have read that the GH is more
than 16, i.e. off the scale on the test strip and classed as very hard
water. I...

How often do I need to feed fish? by
Sam
I just sold my aquarium and I'm enjoying not having to feed the fish
2-3 times a day.
But now I'm planning a small raised pond (100gal) and I'm thinking I
will need to have a few fish to eat mosquito larvae and provide
entertainment (a couple of goldfish would be nice to look at). On the
other...

Considering new stream to pond.. inpu? by
Gareee©
Hey guys.. I'm considering adding a stream to the pond. The idea is to pump
water up to the stream head (maybe 5-8 feet away), and create a stream
"channel" using my local rock, and quickrete with imbedded stones, if
possible.
Can the quickrete be sealed using concrete sealer so lime or such...
