Uk timer query by
frank
My son has a marine tank set up and has some new fancy lights (sorry,
can't be more precise than that) and would like to put them on a
timer. He has everything plugged into a bar plug (extension cable)
and has been looking at the electronic timers, but they say that they
are not reccommended to...

Propergating some corals. by
skozzy
If I was to setup a tank for the purpose of growing some coral cuttings what
would my lighting be and how deep should the tank be ?, I was hoping to
stick with fluro's and a shallow tank for now as it's cheaper to run.

Base Rock and Live Rock by
skozzy
I bought a few kilo's of base rock the other day and some more live rock
from the one shop, I was wondering what the expected time would be to see
these base rocks getting signs of coraline alge.
For the lighting in the tank I changed from duel daylight fluros and 150watt
metal halide to 4 hagen...

What is the best wave maker on the market today? Is a mave maker the same or
better than a water movement device?

Invertebrate type? by
PaulB
It looks like a sea pen to me.
Type that into a search engine and see if that is what it is. If so, it
will need to be ancored in the substrate and fed.

Remora Pro Hang On and EV180 by
Robin
Looking at this PS. Does anyone have it? Pros and Cons? Getting rid of my
Berlin Hang On (POS!)
Also looking at the EV180. Does anyone use this? How do you hook up the
pump to it. Can I just use a flexible house and drop a submersible pump in
my sump with it or do I need an external pump. ...

Sump and Skimmer questions by
sgrien
Ok. Please try to bear with me, this is going to be long...
I am in the planning stages of a new reef setup and I'm trying to get
a handle on some plumbing concerns. Before I ask a potentially dumb
question, here is my plan thus far:
75 Gal. AGA with their new "MEGAflow" overflow rated at 600...

snail troubles by
Dinky
I aquired a small crew of snails (Margarita snails) and they seem to be
having a great deal of trouble getting around on the sub. They tear around
just fine on the glass and LR, but when they are on the bottom (aragonite)
they seem to get hold of one piece of sub, then can't go any further....

Regal Tangs Feeding by
Dan of New Jersey
What is your favorite food to feed the Regal Blue Tang. I have mine for
about a week and have been feeding it:
1. Seaweed Select
2. Formula Two
3: Mysis and Brine: Frozen
Along with other fish.
It is not eating as well as I would like it to. Has nearly gotten over "shy"
period in tank.

Red algae by
Miguel
Hello,
Is there such a thing as "good" red algae?
I have a fair amount of red algae presnet in my 55 gal tank but for the life
of me it doesn't really look slimy to me. If anything it looks more like
"fluff" wherever it looks to be a little denser than just a "surface coat".
What checks /...

Best Forums? by
text-mode
What are the best reef aquaria forums? This group seems pretty active,
and I prefer to use Usenet. However, Reefland.com is also very active.
I do not like to use private forum sites because it seems likely that
they are not archived the way usenet groups are archived. What do
other people think?

Mg dosing... by
Richard Ryerson
I have been having Ca troubles for quite sometime now. This past weekend I
decided to test Mg and it was quite low ~800 ppm... :o
Started dosing Mg tonight, Tech-M. The instructions dictate 1 ml / gallon of
water everyday until you reach the target amount of 1250-1350 ppm. (This
will raise the Mg...

Tuning a Nautilus TE by
Richard Ryerson
Just got a Nautilus TE recently and there is very little info about getting
it tuned.
With my Prizm it told you to adjust so the lower level of bubbles came up to
the o-ring around the chamber. Nothing like that with my Nautilus.
I decided to adjust it so I was getting some "stuff" in the...
