Lighting too much or too little? by
Iain Miller
My Tank is 48x18x24 deep so I've got about 20" of water depth. Its got a
sand substrate, Cannister filters and CO2 injection from a gas bottle which
is controlled by a Ph meter. Rough calculation says about 20ppm CO2.
Over the top are 4x42" 40W tubes with reflectors on them & glass
condensation...

Hagen BioLife internal wet/dry filter? by
LeighMo
I was wondering whether anyone was using one of the Hagen Biolife
internal wet/dry filters in their planted tanks?
Is it going to be a CO2-injected tank? Wet/dry filters can dissipate a lot of
CO2. I also don't like the idea of an internal filter. The Biolife (if it's
the one I'm thinking of)...

Foreground vs. background plants? by
Neil Law
Ok, I've decided to take the plunge and try a planted tank. Thought I'd start
with my 10 gallon and then move to the other. I've done the research, bought new
gravel and substrate. New filter and heater. Bought new bulbs to raise the
watts/gallon.
About to do the work and now I hear about...

Pics of the Plant Fest in Florida by
[email protected]
Ricky has put up more pics of the Rainbow River and the lower Suwanee
and Rum island etc.
Some are quite good IMO.

A couple are good submersed shots and give a good idea of what
everyone else missed out on. Not a bad dinner either.

Looking for A. reineckii by
Dave Millman
After some extensive tank changes, I no longer have one of my favorite
plants, A. reineckii. I have sent clippings to enough folks on this list
that I'm sure a lot of folks must have some!
I'd be happy to paypal shipping or send some variegated rotala macrandra in
trade.
My email is dave (at)...

Walked into the room and saw one of my clowns being frantically chased by
the other... back and forth, but one had a white shell in it's mouth, I
presumed a snail... until I saw that my Anubias, Nana and Barteri that were
blooming at the same time, wonder why, had been devoured by my...

All,
I am planning on finally setting up my 7 gallon Bowfront. I am going
to go with the Eco Complete Substrate.. I think starting off I am
going to stick with low to med light plants. I don't know if I am
going to add Co2 yet or not. I don't want to upgrade the lighting but
I do want to change...

Hydrogen Peroxide: blue-green algae chemotherapy (long) by
newtankgirl
This sounds like a better way to go with the BGA in my tank than using
erythromycin - I only have small patches of it at the moment. I just
did a small test patch and it's bubbling nicely. Weirdly, several of my
cories seem to be trying to eat it
In my tank, quite a bit of the BGA is at...

Ok, I'm new at this...last tank I had was 45 years ago. Now I think I've
jumped the gun. I have a 29 gal. tank with 'natural' gravel and I planted
several varieties straight into the gravel. I just have 3 small fish right
now.
The question is: Can I move the gravel aside and insert the Laterite...
