The Koi Fry :-))) by
Reel McKoi
It appears they're eating the eggyolk/Tetra Fry mix. Looking at some in a
glass exam tank I can see the food inside of them. They're also getting
green-water from several plant propagation pools and the parent's pond. As
soon as they're a bit larger I'll move them to the new 150 gallon...

Solution for hiding liner by
Sue777
Hi.
I'm normally just a lurker here, but I finally found the answer to my
problem of ugly liner showing (between the water line and the rock
edging) and thought I'd share. I don't want to sound like I'm spamming
or anything, though.... I have no affiliation with the company I bought
it from, so if...

Tetra PFX-UV Filters by
Haymish Pupkin
Hi all
Just wondering if anyone has ever used the Tetra PFX-UV range of filters?
Are they any good? How do they compare with the hozelock bioforce filters?
Was looking at the Tetra PFX-UV 5000 or a Hozelock Bioforce 4500 UV/9000 UV
Many thanks

pond plants by
CanadianCowboy
Hello all,
since this is my first time introducing live plants to the pond,
I wanted to know what can be used instead of soil for plants to grow in.
I believe the soil will muck up the clarity of the pond.
I was given some plants that love to grow in water but need some kind of
soil or media to...

finding a leak by
PETER DOYLE
My pond, rubber liner - in ground about six years- has developed a slow leak
somewhere in the top eight inches. Can anyone guide me to info about finding
and fixing this? Is there an FAQ that deals with this or a previous thread?
Thanx.

Help! Goldfish are Dying in New Pond by
Bowhunter
I recently put a new pond in our back yard. It is 8' long X 5' Wide at
the longest points and 22" deep. I'm bordering Zone 5 and Zone 6. I'm
figuring it's about 450 Gallon give or take. We filled the pond about
2 1/2 weeks ago and we have not added plants yet.
We have a 750 gph pump with...

Pond problems by
hornmeister2000
Dear All,
I've just found this forum and I'm wondering if someone can help me?
We have a pond in our garden which we inherited from the previous
people who owned the house. Anyway, it's always been a bit murkey - no
blanked weed, but quite dark water. I've cleaned it out the last 2
autumns but it...

Low maintenance turtles by
HW
Is there any turtles that are low maintenance, in terms of living with small
fish in a small pond with no problem, eat what the small fish eat (I
understand some turtles eat meat and need calcium for the shell, I don't
want to feed meat messing up the pond), small size (my new pond is 60cm x
220cm...

Stubborn pH that won't go down by

My pH is around 9 and I cannot get it to go down. In about a week's
time I've put in 3 bottles of Beckett pH Lower and now I've been adding
a granular pH reducer with no success.
The pond is roughly 3600 gallons. Even though the pond is about 3
weeks old and young ponds can show screwy pH...

Sodium Thiosulphate education by
Bill Stock
I just bought a 5 lb pail of Sodium Thiosulphate for the pond/aquariums. The
instructions I have read here in the past suggest that this should be enough
to dechlorinate lake Superior. But reading the bucket, it states that I need
anywhere between 1/4 tsp and 1 tsp of raw ST per 5 gallons of pond...

Air pump to pump at depth by
SkyCatcher
Hi,
I want to have a vigorous "air cuirtain" at a depth of approx 1.5 metres in
an aquarium. Can anyone recommend an air pump that can deliver this? I have
tried a copuple but at depth they give out a pitiful amount of bubbles!
I have posted to rec.ponds as I suspect I might need something...
