auto fill device? by G & K Meyer
Does any one have a way to keep their water feature full with out doing it by hand? I was thinking there must be something out there that can be tied into a water supply that would open and shut off when a the water level reaches a set level. I would like to put something like that on my front...

Pump recommendations by Phyllis and Jim Hurley
Our pump went out after 7 years. Time to find a replacement. Our system holds 3900 gal. The main pond 2900. The pump is submerged on the bottom and pushes through a 1.5 inch line. Recommendations? Operating cost and reliability are central in our choice. Jim

The Humble little pump by Roy
While I can't take credit for this I do think its pretty good. Not many people think about this, but the humble water pump that costs maybe 2 to 5 hundred dollars is in reality a little marvel of engineering. You install it and set it running and in many cases forget about it until something...

Keeping Raccoons out of the pond by Dean Krick
Hi... has anybody had success in keeping raccoons from attacking their ponds? Raccoons have ate of my 50 or so fish in the pond down to 10. The pond is shallow, 2 feet at the deepest (but very long). Animal control has provided me a humongous trap, but I can only keep it for so long and also have...

pump/filter for 8x8x2 pond? by Guy Bowerman
Hi, I'm getting an 8'x8'x20-24" pond and am trying to decide if a pump/filter is a must have. I checked the rec.ponds faq but am not sure how much difference the volume/temperature makes. I'd like the pond to have some amphibians (we see plenty of Pacific Tree frogs in the garden) and possibly...

What happened to the Room?! by DKat
This used to be such a nice room to visit. After 9/11 things got nasty when I responded to another post saying I thought it criminal to invade another country that had nothing to do with 9/11, with no proof that they were a threat to us. I would have thought things would have gone back to how...
