Japanese pond ideas?? by
The~Doofie~Man©
Hello all. I haven't posted in ages.
I've moved & I'm already planning a Japanese themed pond for the spring here
in Ontario.
My 1st pond was a greats success at my mom's house. It never went green
once. In the Spring I plan on modifying the waterfall. I should have some
pics of the pond as soon as...

Need contact info or web address for Laguna Pumps by
scs0
I have a 1.5 year old Laguna pond pump that decided to die on me. I'm
sure it's dead and not a tripped GPF circuit because I hooked an air
pump up to the same outlet. I did a search on Google for Laguna pumps
and the only thing I could find were retailers selling them. One site
said that Laguna...

Tadpoles, Water and Mud in a Rubbermaid by
Benign Vanilla
I dismantled a small half built pond in my yard a few weeks back, and as I
drained it, I found hundreds of tadpoles. So we dumped those into a
rubbermaid container, and dismantled the pond. Now I have rubbermaid with
100's of tadpoles, and some other insect life, in a rubbermaid that has
several...

what kind of paint by
Ann in Houston
will stick to plastic milk crates? I used normal krylon-type paint on them
when I first got them, but it came off. DH uses a rubberized type on the
handles of his wrenches and such. Will this stick better for use in a pond?

Do I need to shut down pond in Atlanta, GA by
kc
Hi, I have a pond that I inherited when I bought the house last summer. It
seemed to overwinter just fine last year (I left the pump/waterfall on) and
only froze over once. Since it doesn't freeze here very often, I think
I'll probably just put netting over to catch the leaves....my only...

I keep reading about salt being added to ponds, but what kind? Is pickling

pH vs. Total Alkalinity by
Gabrielle
My new pond is a mess, as new ponds tend to be. I'm trying to be very
patient as the water gets greener before it gets clearer.
The one spot I have tried to meddle in is lowering the pH. After a
month, with plants (alive but not thriving) & turtles but no fish, my pH
was high at 8.4, and my total...

RedForeman ©®
i'm debating the pond thing, the wife is bouncing off the walls hoping it
comes thru...
water changes and auto fills came to mind... do ponders just pull over the
hose and add water or do they incorporate a top off valve in the system
somewhere, and if so, where? at the trickle filter?

with these...

At least I salvaged my pump by
Roy
When old Ivan came and my pond flooded, it also got my pump. Its not
an important item actually as its not used to power a filter or
aerate, just used to power a fountain for asthetics, and move
accumulated junk off the water and over to the ponds banks. Pump was
submergerged under at least 2 or...

When is the best time to shut down pond? by
[email protected]
I been doing a slow down of the water into my veggie filter when the temp starts to
mostly drop below 45 at night. actually, once the water temp gets below 55oF for
more than a day or two it is time to stop the waterfall and start preparing the pond
for winter, including putting up a cover and...

Hi,
Well I am adding a 220 gal pond to my 100 gal older one and I would
appreciate any tips or suggestions you may have. Please take a look at this
picture http://funjax.com/pond . It shows the new pond in a half dug hole,

We have a fairly new pond of about 8 weeks, the pool stays very clear
as we have an ultra voilet light, and an air machine and pump. But we
seem to have picked up blanket weed we don't know if it came on a
plant we bought or if this is a common problem with ponds, any advise
