iris has strange pest by Malcolm McRoberts
I've got a 20 gallon pond in a lined barrel. Somethings been chewing holes in my iris, and in my water lily leaves. Kind of like someone used a paper hole punch on them. The iris also has a soft spot in the thick base of one of the leaves, there's mush leaf stuff and little black and green...

Newbie question by 2pods
What is a "Skippy" filter ? In our larger raised pond (still quite small) we have a Hozelok Ecoclear 2200 pump, filter and UV. We also have a small pre-form which has two goldfish and some oxygenators, and a small (650gph) fountain pump in, and we'd like to filter that, but don't want to go to...

Trees and ponds by Newbie Bill
This may be years in the coming, but if by chance liners go on sale around my birthday - ya never know. The only place we really have, short of totally full sun is under the canopy of several Live Oaks and Pin Oak. 1) Anyone know rules of thumb about how far away from the base you would have to...

Azola to give away by Heather
If you live in Canada send me an email and I'll send you some of this stuff for postage or trade. If you live in SW Ontario you can come pick up all you want. It is overrunning my pond. And I hate throwing plants away. Also have some duckweed and a velvety floater I forget the name...

Whiskey Barrel Biofilter by Bill Stock
Anyone know who sells the Lerio Whiskey Barrel liner with waterfall spout? I'm getting tired of cleaning the external filter. The Skippy filter looks promising, but I don't have the room to hide a stock container. So I thought I could make an upflow filter out of a Whiskey Barrel.

Shubunkin Mystery by 2pods
One of my shubs seems to have disappeared. Is it more likely to be the neighbours' cat (our cats leave to pond alone), or could the grass carp have anything to do with it (I thought they were veggie) ? The shub was about 3 inches, and the carp is about 6. Peter

Pickup trucks and ponds by Crashj
Today I stopped by a shop that does spray in bed liners for pickup trucks. I had been wondering, and others had asked, "Can you guys do a pond?" The answer is "You betcha, yes, but . . ." as you might have thought. They can spray anything you can bring into the shop as long as it is DRY!!!!...

Leopard Frogs in Arizona by AZKalEl
I am in the Mesa / Phoenix area and am looking for a good local source of Leopard Frogs. We are overun with crickets (again) this year and I thought they'd be a good natural control. I've resisted frogs in the pond but now that we are in our fourth year and "swimming" in fry I really don't care...

Large Red sore on Koi by RED1102
I have a large blue koi that has a big red sore near his tail, there is another small one under his eye. I have been using Medicarp medicated food and Melafix liquid that I've put in so far for 5 days, they say do it for 7. You can also use it longer if you have to. The fish seems fine, it is...

Help! by KSM
I just discovered that one of my larger fish has what appears to be a fungus growing on both sides of him. It is greenish in color and covers almost 50% of his sides.. The fish is not feeding and spending most of the time near the surface, but at a correct attitude. Does any one have any idea...

worm question by Pond Diver
I was cleaning out my pondmaster filter and found some tiny red worms in the coarse pad. They're 1/4 to 1/2 inch long and very thin. What are they? I don't think they're bad and didn't wash them away. I just changed out the charcoal pad and rinsed off the coarse pad. I put the filter back...
