New UV question by
Szpond
We have been fighting "GREEN" water for 3 years now. Finally broke down and
bought a UV filter. Has been running for 12 hours now. Our pond is absolutely
FULL of foam. This normal? Does it mean the UV is working? Thanks, Cathy

Dechlorination Filter by
Gale Pearce
I ran across a link a while back in one of the threads about making a filter
to dechlorinate the tap water we add to our ponds. I saved the instructions
and just now am getting around to it. Can whoever posted this link tell me
if the filter removes the chlorine or justs breaks the bond...

Pump recommendation by
Paul
I need a pump that can pump water from my small pond (about 100gal) over a
distance or approx 5 metres to a UV clarifyer. The pond is a garden feature
pond built raised above the ground (about 2ft high) the pump will be
situated about 5 metres away at ground level and the hose will be routed...

air pump by
Newbie Bill
I have decided to add a small air pump to my pond. This is I believe simply
peace of mind insurance, so I want it to be cheap insurance. I could use
some suggestions about how small/cheap I can use and still be providing
benefit. I don't even know how air pumps are rated but will doubling...

Streams or Screams? by
SVTKate
It's me again.
Having too much time on ones hands to work out in the 'yard' makes the
imagination run amok with ideas for making the whole place look like a
wooded wonderland.
Having the pocketbook of a retiree, makes one's imagination often come to a
screaming, frustrated halt in nothing...

I lost the original post-- Would you be kind enough to tell me how much
you used, where in pond: and how often you added it? My pond is about
1800 to 2000 gallons, with 20 lg shebunkins and goldfish. I have a sm. (
50 gal.) veggie filter at the top of the falls. It is filled with

New Small Pond.......Need Info Please by
M.R. Wholesale Goods
I have a very small back yard with a garden and decided to put a small
pond in with a waterfall. I did'nt plan on putting any fish in the
pond so I only made the pond 5' long by 2' wide by 1' deep. Just big
enough to add something nice to the existing garden. I planned on
putting in a few water...

Dragonfly behavior by
Newbie Bill
Hi all - On several occasions I have seen a dragonfly fly close to the
water, tilt its tail part 90 degrees and quickly dip it into the pond a
number of times. Even saw this once just using a little water on a lily
pad. I'm guessing its either 1)Drinking from the wrong end 2)Decided my
pond is...

Help! Blue Heron eating all of my fish! by
Lisa
After ten years of water gardening I never had a predator invade my pond
until now! I was recently married and moved my pond to my new home last
fall and our lot borders a creek with a natural pond about 200 feet away
from our house in the woods. We frequently see Blue Herons overhead and
enjoy...

UV lights.. I'm tired of my green pond! by
Gareee©
I've been trying plants, and barley straw now for over a month, and my green
hasn't even subsided a little.
Has anyone built a low cost UV light setup, and if they haven't, what size
would I need for a 14'x14' by 2-3 foot deep pond?
Who go the cheapest online prices for these?

Eggs under lilly pads by
O3raledale
Hi all,
I found some eggs under a couple of lilly pads. And they have little black
things twitching around in them. (only visible under a magnifing glass) Can any
body let me know what they are? There are hundreds of them under one pad.
Thanks,
-Pat Rolland
