Out of the mouths of babes by noahsnana
My Koi guys have been devouring Navel oranges and seedless watermelon for the last month. They suck the rhine clean. They also love Cheerios. Yesterday I asked my grandson if he would like a bowl of Cheerios, he said "Nana I don't eat fish food". LOL

easiest/least invasive way to repair leak by [email protected]
had a pondless waterfall installed last fall. I love it, except that it does have a leak and I suspect a large one. Loose several inches of water a day and will empty out completely in course of about a week. Have done all the trouble shooting and I "think" it must be in the bottom of the liner...

I just took all of the water celery and water mint out of my pond. Everything is containerized so it was not problem. They were sending out runners with roots that would take root in all the neighboring pots. They may have been responsible for cleaning up my pond in the spring when I was fighting...

Lemon Comet by Cam
I've read about bright yellow 'Lemon Comet' goldfish. Does anybody here have one or know a source to get one? I think a different colour like that would be an interesting addition to my pond. Cam

Comet finnage by Newbie Bill
Someone told me recently they thought the longer flowing tail and side fins on a comet, were often indicative of the sex of the comet. I mean comparing comets to comets, not commons or other goldfish - some finnage seems to be larger some than others. Is this true or more a matter of...

Lily eggs? by Newbie Bill
Periodically I have seen these small granule like things on some of my lily pads. The look someone took some fine granulated dark brown sugar and spinkled it on some of the pads. A portion seems to also be whiter, but I have no idea if the granuales are going from brown to white or vice...

Travertine Pool? by DavesVideo
Still trying to get a pond going. The water here is extremely hard and the pond looks like the travertine pools out west with pretty blue water. After a day or so, the water clears and a thin gray residue settles out. Question is, can fish live in that? I know that water softeners use salt pellets...

Chemistry/Plant help Please! by Bill Stock
I posted this one before, but I'll try again. My Lillies and Water Hyacinths seem to be deteriorating from the inside out. Looks like they're burning up. PH seems to be about 8, KH 300+, Total Hardness 75 or so. Nitrates and Nitrites are nil. Plants did very well last year, WH took over the pond....
