Cichlidiot
Has anyone ever tried Nymphaea lotus (zenkeri) bulbs (I believe the common
name is "Tiger Lotus Lily") in a small container pond? Apartment dweller
here so I am limited to what I can do, which means small (half barrel at
most) and not really a power source either so no water movement. I have
been...

Steve and Lisa
Hi everyone. We just purchased a new home and I know it's too late to dig
our pond this year, but we're not sure where to put it in the spring. The
back is southern exposure, with a small slope 1/4 way into it and several
trees including one very large Pine.
Here is a pic of the back garden, any...

Wow, I guess I don't need a grow light by
Michael Shaffer
I'm overwintering my water hyacinths and a couple other plants and they
are THRIVING under 4 normal 40" shop lights. One of the water hyacinths
is getting to be almost 2 feet across and the others are at least 1'.
They're growing way faster than they did outside over the summer. If
anybody is...

Getting ready for winter in NC by
Ron Lawrence
I spent a couple of hours this afternoon
pulling the brown Hyacinths out of the pond.
It's interesting that the water lettuce is still nice
and green. I moved most of the remaining lettuce
into the veggie filter for now, I know it'll die as soon
as we have a hard freeze.
Next I've got to trim all...

I have an attractive 6-7 inch koi that I will give free to a good
home/pond in the Pittsburgh area.
My wife brought him earlier this year and placed him into our aquarium
as a suprise for me without understanding how big the (then) little
fella would get. He (she?) is already getting too large...
