UK-based questions in free.uk.nature.ponds. It's quiet there most of the
time, but someone comes along eventually.

I checked out the Garden Banter website:
http://www.gardenbanter.co.uk/

The website lists a number of newsgroups, including -- interestingly
enough! -- the triangle.gardens newsgroup which focuses on the "research
triangle" area (3 major cities/universities) in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel
Hill, North Carolina.
