Feeding during "Indian Summer" by
Frances Whited
I am a very new ponder here in Zone 5 Ohio. Put in one of those 90-gal.
preformed kits in the spring, and we love it!
Here's my question. I really didn't feed our two 4-5" goldfish (one
comet and one something else -- all orange!) all summer. Now we have at
least nine, maybe more, babies. The...

Advice Please by
dhponder
I need some advice from the experts. We've gone from summer into winter
here in Idaho (zone5, used to be 4.) I've successfully wintered over the
fish for 3 years using a couple of airstones. This year I decided to use
a bit more, 2 airstones, an Oase pond aerator and a small 300gph pump
for some...

Amquel vs PondAmQuel by
Fred
Anybody know the difference between these 2 products, besides the coloring
of the bottle buck or so difference in price? The maker, instructions, and
benefits are nearly identical.

jammer
Ok, I have a question. I have a measly little 70 gallon preform
pondlet and some of you must know what they look like....This year i
stacked bricks in four places for the toads to get out. (All i cared
about was making it toad friendly from the beginning. I got toads but
time and time again they...

Halloween Safety Tips
I'm sure that you've all seen these rules before and really, they're
just
common sense. But since we're coming up to that time of the year, I
think
it's wise to review them. Something about this time of year can play

Fire all around me! Tall raging Fire I say! by
Just Me \Koi\
Ladies and Gentlemen,
You've all heard the phrase "When it rains it pours" Like I don't have
enough, the out of control fire in my area is now truly out of control.
Some of you may remember that I live in Rancho Cucamonga, Southern
California! We've had fire going on since Tuesday, and it's...

Feathered Fish Snatchers by
Ken Collis
Hello
I'm new to this thread - and a fair novice at ponds also. But I now have a
smallish pond/waterfall etc in my backyard that I'm pretty happy with, and
up until recently also had six happy koi swimming around. Several rocky
hideaways etc. A couple of months ago we had a visit from a white...

Solitary koi-thing, newts and compatibility by
Michael Kilpatrick
Folks,
I wonder if you some of the carp and newt experts around here
would be able offer some advice?
In my pond in South Cambridgeshire I have a lonely,
solitray koi-like fish which hasn't grown any longer than
twelve inches in the three years since I "inherited" it
with the pond and the house....

How to make a outdoor rain wall? by
[-M_a_t_r_i_x-]
I saw this on a TV show. They had made an 8ft tall x 8ft wide rain wall
out of copper tubing.
Does anyone know where to get the plans to build one?
I pretty much know how to construct the overhead tubing..but i need some
ideas on what to use for the 8ft long water reservoir, so I can secure
it to...

The watergardening labradors and I are great fans of author
Dean Koontz and his golden retriever, Trixie. Every once
and a while Trixie sends around an email letter to remind readers
of a new book release. Today's email details Trixie's plans for
Halloween.

Pond Questions by
Bruce Bradford
Is this the best forum for questions about managing larger multi acre
ponds? I am a new pond(s) owner and have a lot to learn, but it looks
like this group may be mostly geared toward smaller ponds.
Thanks,

Air stone use? by
Fred
My little 400gal pond has done wonderfully all summer long - crystal clear
water (after the spring bloom), lilies going crazy, fish thriving, including
a host of new babies. However, I was thinning the hyacinth this week and in
removing several plants noticed a subtle yet distinct odor that...

pond skaters by
no6
I have a few pond skaters in my small pond, but am concerned that as winter
draws in and the lilies die back and are removed, there will be no 'land'
surface on which they can rest (or whatever they do!). How do others deal
with this?
