Ball Cocks by
Jeff & Kathy Brown
We have several ball cocks installed on the plumbing around our pond. They
have become quite hard to turn in order to shut down the water line. Does
anyone have any suggestions on some kind of a device or something, to make
them easier to turn? Thanks.
Kathy

Pleco???? by
mad
i have never put a pleco in a pond. i have a 100 gallon aquarium and i had
several gldfish in it and a pleco to ostensibly keep the glass free of
algae. the first thing that happened was that it didn't eat algae. #2 was
that it attached itself to the side of one of my goldfish and rasped off...

Looking For an Old Friend by
Chris
Hi Group:
I'm trying to locate an old friend and fellow ponder who hails from Maple
Shade, NJ. I believe her name is Kathy and her and I swapped some plants
and fish around this time three years ago. She also was a very good friend
during a rather difficult time in my personal life and I would...

Any Bend, Oregon ponders ? by
Caph
I'm new to ponds and could really use some suggestions as to the best way to
prepare my ponds for winter. It does freeze here, but I've no idea if it's
enough to freeze 2 - 2½ ft. ponds solid. (I don't think so, but not sure).
If any of you are from the Bend area (Central Oregon's high desert)...

how to plant in baskets? by
Axolotl
What is the recommendation for plant pond plants?
I am going to use the "standard" plastic basket type planters, but somebody
told me that I should line it with landscaping fabric in order to keep the
roots under control.
Is this a good idea?
For Lilies?
For cattails?
Other Plants?
TIA

definition of the term *Plonk* by
Lee Brouillet
Cool . . . I was familiar with the British term as "derision", but not that
it was cheap booze, or an acroynm for Person of Little Or No Knowledge G

What should the bottom of the pond look like. by
Bob Knight
Newbee ponder here.... I was wondering if it's overkill to try to keep the
bottom of the pond free of debrie and stuff that might settle there. The max
depth is around 2.5 feet. Should I get out the old shopvac and start
cleaning?

bought house with koi (1) pond..long, sorry by
k conover
Hi, I recently bought a 1923 bungalow in Atlanta, and I inherited a small
pond (about 4 feet across, maybe 2-3 feet deep) with one fish. To me he
appears to be a large goldfish, not a koi--is there any easy way to
differentiate? He's all orange. The owner that sold me the house said
that he...

Still green.... by
Szpond
I've written for suggestions before, and have tried them all...but, I STILL
have a nasty, green pond. I had clear water for 1 week since spring. I'm
really discouraged and do not know what to do. I had that "floating" algae for
over a month, that has stopped, but I still can't see my fish. ...

Raccoon trouble by
Gene
Checked the pond yesterday morning and saw the fountain knocked over
and some plants on the edge of the pond. I thought it might have been
a cat but later in evening my mom called me at work and said that my
uncle who lives across the street found a hurt raccoon on his deck.
I was wondering why I...

Thank you BV! by
Wilson
The plants came yesterday and they were plunked into the pond!
On a side note....I've never smelled anything more disgusting especially
something that was intentionally delivered to me, I now know what the bowls
of hell smell like:) I can still smell it here at work.
