I have a larger frog who has made his home in my pond I would say he is about 3". I have a hole by my pond where I have been doing some work and I saw him in there. I thought he might be stuck in the whole, I reached down to get him out and he jumped out of the 24" deep hole into the yard. Then 36"...

Arg! some racoon ??'s by Mike Miller
After setting out the hav-a-hart trap for many, many, many nights and continuing to catch possum after possum, I finally got "the" racoon who's been ransacking my pond, released in many miles from here in the forest preserve, and went to bed a few nights w/o hooking up the scarecrow and setting the...

My experence with Just Liners, Inc. by AllenC
http://www.justliners.com/aboutus.htm There is an old saying about good vs bad service. Rutgers did a study and found that when people get good service, they remember it for 18 months and tell 9-12 other people. For bad service memories go back as far as 23 years and they will tell 20 people a...

How many koi is too many koi by Carl Beyer
OK, Take out the filtration factor and what is too much for koi? The reason I ask is that I see so many different claims, and then I go see a koi breeder and they have 20 big ones in 1000 gallons (30+ inches). And 50 or more in 750 gallon setups... Carl -- --

nitrate limited pond? by Mike Miller
My 2 yr old pond still presents a conundrum. 500 gallons, full sun, z5, readings always within range, ammonia and nitrate always read zero, never any suspended algae, but SA, clear water, under my fish load, don't feed them, lots of plants of all types, 75% coverage, K, iron and magnesium (low in...

I need a good water pump for my pond by Carlos Falcon
I have a 9'x7' semi round pond that at one end is 16" deep and at the other end is 20" deep, with a water fall at the deepest end. (I am currently borrowing my friend sump pump (1/3 horse). Power outage tips by Robyn Rhudy
I know it's too late now but since the power outage is big news, I wanted to remind some people about my tips on aquariums and ponds during power outages. Here are the links. Where I live, we used to get the power out all the time so I think it's funny how dependant people are on power and don't...

Kind of OT by Mickey
I am starting the return stream to my water fall and enjoying the nice summer days. I look over at my Dwarf Plum Tree and see my dog standing on her hind legs picking a ripe plum and eating it. She ate the whole thing in one bite. You could see the plum juice running down her chin.

Tadpole question by Peggy Elliott
I have a small plastic pond in which a frog laid a zillion eggs. Up until a day or so ago, I had a zillion tadpoles, all of whom happily snacked on the algae. I noticed a week or so ago their back legs had sprouted (or whatever you call it when back legs suddenly appear). Two days ago there was...
