algae by
Phyllis and Jim Hurley
I went to the site. A work in progress! Blank pages for water gardens and
just words for Koi. Decidedly increases my confidence in the resources
offered (nutrient for bacteria to attack algae...with monthly repeat
treatments needed.

Update - Toad Injured or deformed. by
Heather
Took everyone's advice. Purchased some mealworms and crickets.
I was able to get closer to him/her (how do you tell?). The front leg
definitely looks chopped off. But is also has something not right with the
back. It really has trouble moving. Poor thing also looked very thin. It
couldn't...

cement waterfall by
Hank Pagel
You can use coatings made for concrete swimming pools. I do know that
even though it looks and feels dry concrete takes a long time to cure.
I am not sure what effect it would have on PH but the new concrete
will leach lime into the water for some time unless sealed. If you
decide to try it without...

Anyone Have Japanese Beetles? by

I took this from the U. of Ohio web page.
I left off option #4. Spraying of insecticides. ........ For obvious
reasons.
Adult Control
Option 1: Cultural Control - Hand Picking By noticing when the first
adults arrive on a property, you can pick off and destroy these scouts
that attract additional...

What Happened to CSA by
ClubJoe
I've been away from this list for a long while but came back to try and find
out what happened to The Pond Guys web site(www.pondguy.com). I need to buy
a new supply of CSA but they are no longer around. Has anyone any idea what
happened and if there is a replacement for CSA?
Thanks,
JOE

Muffin's Lillies by
bobkiely
I am happy to report that while the raccoon knocked off the lily bud that
Muffin sent me, I now have 4 new 2"-3" leaves laying on the surface of my
pond and a couple more on their way to the surface.
I'd just like to thank her again, this time publicly, for all the effort she
made to send out as...

Bleach in a fountain? by
Rob
I have read that I can use bleach in an outdoor fountain (no plants or
fish) to remove algae. Does anyone know the amount of bleach? Also,
I have a dog and want it to be safe for him as well as wildlife.
Finally, would I just add the bleach and wait for the tons of algae to
go away or do I need...

annother newbie ? liners, Polyethylene vs EPDM by
Megan Wilson
I've been checking out prices for liners (mainly online) and i've noticed
that the polyethylene are usally about half the price of the EPDM, which
means i could build a pond about twice as big... the warranties on both are
for 20 years, but it seems like people usually buy the EPDM. Has anyone...

Need to wash liner?? by
Traci
Have a question about EPDM liners. I had replaced an old 350 gallon
preformed pond with a liner. Now accross the liner in nice blue letters it
states it is fish safe.
I rinsed the liner with water, filled the pond up, put in some plants waited
about a week, and threw my fish in... Couple days later...

Do you get increased numbers of water lilly flowers if you dead head

barely straw by
*muffin*
I have the pellets kind in a bag in the pond.
I read you need to keep part of it out of the pond for the air to add oxygen
to the'mix' for it to decay properly.
question :
is it supposed to STINK????
I have moved it on a few occasions & it smells pretty dang foul....

Big filter, John!
The duckweed grows like...a weed. It may do the job for you in a hurry, if
the koi don't get to it first.
