How long can fish go w/o eating when it's cold by The Space Boss
Thanks for the info on the fish. SInce the water is a bit chilly, probably under 50 degrees, I have stopped feeding them. They aren't even coming up to the top. Anyway, how long can the fish go without eating in the cold? Thanks.

I agree Ike but talking football is so much more fun than atheism. Bear is dead, I admit it, so let him lie in piece. Rot Tide!

Sinking pond plants for the winter by kc
One last question--how do you keep the plants from being nibbled by the koi/goldfish when they're "sunk" in the pond? Kirsten

Thanksgiving was bad for the fish... by mark Bannister
Well we left the fish over Thanksgiving with the neighbor kid checking on a couple in the QT tank. Turns out four goldfish fish picked this time to swim in to the skimmer. One died, the other three are pretty bad off. One has lost nearly all his scales. Ain't it always the way? The problem was...

Bad pump or filters? by 99windstar
We have a pondmaster pump/filtration system. I believe this is what we have can't remember http://www.pondliner.com/PMK1500.htm. We use it only in the winter, we run our 14ft. waterfall and larger filter during the summer. Last winter was our first winter using the pump. It would run a month or...

New pond by Galen Hekhuis
I've got this pond out in back of the house that I'm going to have cleaned up. The thing is roughly circular, about 40-45' in diameter. The former owner of this property used it to dispose of brush and even old chairs and I think I can see an old barbeque in there. The water level is down now...

How deep in NE PA? by powlus
I'm building my first pond next spring---10X12' for goldfish, no Koi. I live in northeastern Pennsylvania. The winter temperatures on rare occasions get as low as -10F. How deep should I dig---is 2 feet enough, or should I go to three? Robin The Poconos, PA
