importance of tank frame? by
Brian
How important is the plastic frame on an All-Glass tank, the modern kind
with good silicone seals?
I had a small fire in my tank hood, and part of the frame melted, in
spots both on the top frame & bottom, on one end. I'm not sure how the
structural integrity of my tank is affected. I've only...

Eternal filter question by
Jewlssss
I've just added (yesterday) an external to my 190L Jewel tanks. the tank
usually has, as well as the standard jewel corner filter, a fluval 4+
filter. At the moment they are all running, inc the external one.
Can I take out the fluval? Is there enough biological filter material in the
jewel one...

Fluval 304 vs 305? by
[email protected]
Hi,
Does anyone have both of these models or have actually seen them side
by side?
I have heard a few things...that people visually thought they were
pretty much the same but could someone tell me more precisely the
differences?
I can get the 05 series for about 20% more, but is it worth it? ...

Cycling -- Remove NH Source? by
NickC
I'm establishing a new 5g tank and have started the cycle with a piece
of fish from a raw fillet.
Ammonia is up around 4ppm and nitrite around 5ppm. From what I've
read, now nitrite is around 5 I should start to see some nitrate
showing soon. Should I remove the piece of dead fish to stop the...

Marine salt in planted freshwater tanks? by
jd
Hi folks,
I've heard/read some recomendations to add a small amount of sea salt to
freshwater aquariums to provide trace minerals and such. Has anyone tried
this?
I have a large (125G) planted tank, with fish, and keeping the trace
elements up is tough. The fact that none of the LFS carry...

I'm curious if anyone has this stand...and what they think about it?
I think it looks great from the pictures...but I mean how is it really.
They say it's all wood stand...and seems to be good quality, but who

repurposing an aquarium by
11D.Universe
We're looking for creative suggestions for things to do with a 55
gallon aquarium. When we built the house, we built a special partition
in the wall between two rooms so the aquarium could be seen from two
rooms. We're no longer maintaining the tank (long story - big house
- empty nest) and are...
