new filter by
[email protected]
Hi,
I posted a message a couple of weeks ago about the Fluval 404. Based
on the imput, I went ahead and got one, and now I have a follow up
question. I'm used to an Emporer 400 (hang on), where there is no
chance for water to escape, unless the filter housing cracks, and what
are the odds of...

What killed my triggerfish? by
Patrick
Hi
It is a sad day for me and my family since we lost our very active and
lively picasso trigger.
The fish had been kept alone in a 55 GA tank with a wet dry filter.
The fish was very cool with him allowing us to pet him for long period
of time, he was very lively too lively even sometimes as we...

Tank Temp by
I am having a little trouble getting my 30 gal SW tank to get down to 78
degrees f. It seems to be running right about 84 Degrees f.
1. Is 84 degrees to warm?
2. Any suggestions on how to cool the tank, without a $600 cooler?
Just starting the tank, and it is cycling now. Into day 3.

new tank and filter question by
[email protected]
Hi everyone,
I've had a 30 gal sw fish only tank for 7 years. I'm now switching to
a 44 gal 'cause it fits in a corner. I've had Emperor 400's
(biowheels) on this tank the whole time and even though the flow rate
isn't nearly what they advertise, my a/n/n has always been perfect.
Question is,...

emergency marine aquarium :-) by
andy smart
Hi
My son came back from the seaside at the weekend with a bucket full of
shells (like they do). Unfortunatley among them were about a dozen
muscles and two small crabs which were still very much alive!
We're going back to the seaside on saturday, so I'd really like to keep
them alive till then...

Nitrite problems by
Angie
A few weeks ago we restarted a marine tank. It is 270 liters and we have 2
clowns and 2 damsels in the tank. We have came accross a nitrite and amonia
problem that we can not seem to get rid of. We have put some bio balls in
the tank along with some "Easylife" and that seemed to have helped with...

Snowflake eels escaping? by
Gary
Exactly how concerned should I be about a snowflake eel escaping? I'm
starting a 75 gallon fish-only tank and want to include a snowflake
eel. My tank is well covered, but I do have two openings on the back
of my tank to allow for filtration hoses and a hang-on protein skimmer
and a heater and...

New tank setup advice needed by
Matthew Speed
I ran a 30 gal marine aquarium over ten years ago. I have come into
the possession of a 55 gal tank and want to start a new marine
aquarium.
Back in '91 the only filtration system I had was a Skilter 250.
Although it worked fine for me then, I assume there have been
changes/improvements in both...

Questions about LR & LS in new tank by
MonkeyBoy
Hi All,
I am studying up in preparation to start a 15 to 20 gallon marine tank
with live rock, live sand, corals, shrimp and a small fish. Also
planning to use an Eheim canister filter and protein skimmer (unless
of course I'm advised otherwise). I've read a bunch of posts here as
well as the...

PC light fixtures by
shopping-for-lights
I am thinking about getting either an Orbit or a Satellite PC fixture, both made
by Current USA. The main difference I can see between them (besides the number
of lunar lights) is that the Orbit has a parabolic reflector while the Satellite
appears to have a flat one. Is this difference worth the...
