Brisle Worms by
Peter Pan
I have an established 75 gal (85lbs of LR) tank for 5 years now. When I
initally set it up, I noticed bristle worms in and around the sand bed. Now
I don't see them. Is this normal? AND should I do anything about it?
thanks

Nitrates have me baffeled by
hh
I need to move my 180gal tank due to some remodeling. I have setup a 55gal
tank to hold 5 fish and the live rock. I used RO water, added salt, put a
new bag of CaribSea SuperReef Sand (after rinsing). I put 6 oz of sand from
the 180gal tank to move some bacteria and other animals to the new...

Acclimation failure by
Don Geddis
Let's say I get a new fish from the LFS, and then do a poor job acclimating
it to my tank, perhaps too fast or something. What kind of behavior should
I expect?
I recently got a small (ocellaris) clown, and unfortunately was a little rushed
when I got it home. Seemed fine the first 48 hours...

Are a yellow face pigmy angle and a flame angle compatable in a 65
Gallon reef tank? The pigmy angel has been in the tank for quite a while
and I am thinking of adding the flame.
Thanks

Increasing my water circulation by
Peter Pan
I currently have 2 power heads in my 75 gal (85 lbs LR) and I would like to
increase the water circulation. I don't want to add another Power head, I
would like to get rid of the 2 I have and Use 1 MAG 1 drive with PVC tubing.
Basically the Mag would sit under the tank in the stand, the PVC would...

Aquarists vs Marine Biologists by
J R-S
According to dictionary.com, an aquarists is he who maintains an aquarium,
in the other hand, a Marine Biologist is a specialist.
In other words, anyone that maintains an aquarium good or bad is an
aquarist. To be a Marine biologist you have to be a specialist on the
field.

Overflow Help by

My sump has been up and running for 4+ months now...no problem.
In the last few days I have noticed that the water has gone down in the
chamber with the return pump
and the water level in the tank has gone up. Nothing is blocked up as far
as I can see.
It just seems like the pump is pumping more...

Dry Tank by
Betty
We have a 500 gallon salt water tank that was leaking. (8 ft wide x 4
ft high x 2 ft deep).
It is not repairable and we do not want to spend the 10 grand it will
cost to replace it.
It was suggested that we would be able to utilize the tank as a "dry
tank" which would house shells and dry coral...

Hawaiian Dwarf Zebra Hermits = BAD News by
Roy
They are far from being so called reef safe. I have been out of the
picture for a few days laid up with pretty bad sinus infection, so
fish etc have been getting the minimum amount of attention, which
amounts to a quick check of inhabitant numbers, water temps, top of
and feed one time a...
