Water preperation by
Sigristr
I have read this group off and on for several years.... It seems that most
people here recommand using an RO unit or an RO/DI unit for preparing their
water. Since I am not thrilled about wasteing a lot of water, other than
haveing to "recharge" the resins, what is the advantage of an RO over...

Custom Sea Life replacement bulbs... by
Pszemol
As probably everybody knows, CustomSeaLife does not make powercompacts anymore.
Can you recommend a reliable source of replacements for 96W/34" bulbs ?
I am talking not only about the color spectrum for 10kK and Actinic 03
but also the bulbs which would last good amount of time before...

Fulham Ballast and VHO by
Jim Reynolds
Has anyone ever using the Fulham Workhorse 7 Long Ballast to drive VHO's.
I know that it can be used to
drive one 4' vho but I would like to try driving 2 36" VHOs since the max
output is 220W. Anyone tried
this ?
Thanks,
Jim Reynolds

Inexpensive bulk Cleanup critters by
[email protected]
I recall a post last year concerning a very inexpensive source for
snails and other cleanup critters. I think they were based in Florida,
and sold mainly to retailers, but also sold to the public. Can anyone
point me in the right direction on this.

Biowheel HOB filter in 2.5 gallon by
Matt C.
I am setting up a 2.5 gallon nano with LR/LS I was going to convert the
smallest size Penguin Bio wheel filter to a mechanical filter/heater
chamber. I can then still leave the bio wheel in place and have extra
wet/dry bio filtration. Does this sound possible? How about adding a single
small Goby...

wavemaker pro repairs by
jim
Anybody know who or were to get a wavemaker pro repaired? Pump 1 & 2 do not work. I had it too long to return it. I hate to spend another $120.00 for another one. My corals seemed to love the water flow setup when it was running right.
If anybody has a used one for sell that works in good shape I...

Thanks

damsels by

I'm thinking of buying a couple of damsels. I remember watching a TV
program which showed black damsels which were cultivating a patch of reef
and helping it recover from a serious loss. could these help my maintenance
of the reef.
I had a lot of bother with two unholy terrors of Fijian damsels...
