Newbie Question by
F.D.S.
I have a question about lighting again:
I have two 55w 10k and two 55w actinic blue PC's on my 55gal tank.
Inhabitants are some damsels, 1 snowflake eel, green star polyps, a few
mushrooms and brown button polyps. When it comes time to replace the bulbs,
can I put 65w or 96w on the system? Or would...

ID? by
Dan Norgard
Hi;
I just found what appears to be an anemone...It's about an inch in diameter
and sits in the sand out in the open. It is white and the tentacle tips are
about 1/2" long and magenta in color. It just sits there and, when
'teased', disappears faster than a paranoid featherduster. My son swears...

Sump Drain by
gg
Morning all,
Been lurking and enjoying this group for a couple months now (as long as
I've been in the hobby) and have learned alot! Thanks for all the info. I'm
switching my 24" X 16" X 18" ,37 Gal FOLR from crushed shell and gravel
substrate to sand this weekend and would like to drill a hole...

garf aragocrete question by
John Smith
anyone try this stuff? The shapes look awesome and if it does indeed take
to becoming live when seeded, it'd make a nice base (from the pics anyhow)
I've never ordered from them but am considering it, just looking for
feedback, good or bad.
Thanks

euroreef skimmer question by
Christ's Soldiers
My sump maintains a pretty high water level and I was wondering what
the water level range, in inches, was supposed to be used with euroreef
skimmers. I would consider getting one except that I'm not sure it
would work in my sump. Looking forward to any advice from someone who
has one....

Cow fish and Coral Beauty? by
Dinky
I have a long-horned cowfish, delightful critter, but very docile,
had to get rid of my damsels, obviously. Tankmates are a yellow tang
that seems to mother it, and a six-stripe that is just a wonderful
fish as well. How will a coral beauty do in this tank, with these
fish, based on your...

starting a mini reef with an eclipse 6 for a sump, looking for ideas. by
John Smith
I have decided to get back into the hobby by purchasing a 29 gallon tank.
I'm planning on making my own cabinet for it. In the base of the cabinet I
want to put an eclipse system 6 that I have. I want to remove the light,
pump/filter, etc. and cut holes in the top for the inflow and return. ...

Spot Disease? by
Happy'Cam'per
Hey Miguel
Nice to see another South African here :o
Is what you're doing even legal? Are you allowed to capture fish from rock
pools down there?
These fish are coming straight from a natural environment and into your
tank, I don't think its surprising that they had an Ich breakout, I think
you've...

My sun coral! by
Marc Levenson
A DFWMAS club member traded me his beautiful sun coral for a chunk of my
Hammer. Some might not think that is an equal trade, but as far as I can tell
we are both very very happy with our exchange.
The Hammer was quite large in my tank, with a thick trunk that I never saw for
the past few months....

Can I add more sand to cycling tank? by
JohnnyE000
I have a 12g JBJ Nano Cube and added a 10lb bag of LS (I think it was CaribSea,
not sure since I'm at work, I can find out later if needed). Since the tank
has now been cycling for a week, it has given me a chance to read more. I've
found that some people recommend 3-4 inches of sand substrate on...
