Cup Coral by
Ed Greco
So a few weeks ago I was at the LFS and noticed this pretty little cup coral
was on sale. I had never read anything about cup corals but was told their
care was pretty straight forward. Well I got it home, put it in my tank and
everything was fine. Two weeks passed and I decided to move the...

So What About "Plenums" by

Are they worth the effort or is DSB the way to go?
Many people still use plenums and they work well. However, DSB's are easier
and work very well too. Take your pick.

Fraggin' by
John Hudson
Is there a *right* way or a *wrong* way to frag a mushroom polyp? I took a
surgical blade and split one of my polyps and shortly (two weeks) I had 2
mushrooms. I did the same thing right after noticing the one polyp became
two polyps and while hoping for 4 polyps, I now have 0 polyps :(

Equipment for 155g. by
David McKay
The best prices I've found in Canada are from J&L Aquatics in B.C. They have
an on-line store at www.jlaquatics.com that I've had good experience with.
Shipping is fast & reasonable, and the prices beat local stores by hundreds
of dollars for bigger ticket items.
If anyone knows of better prices...

Sump 10X bigger than Aquarium? by
Timothy Tom
I was wondering if anyone ever ran a reef system where the sump volume
was much larger than the tank volume. Although obviously there would
be some additional up-front costs to creating such a system (inital
Salt mix, live sand, sump costs) I wonder if such a system would save
costs in livestock...

Bristle worms and reef tank by
Bob
Hello;
I just spotted one in my 125 gal reef tank and it's got to be almost a foot
long. I've read contradictory stuff on these worms but are they dangerous to
other reef inhabitants and corals when they get this big? I haven't seen any
evidence so far of any destruction to anything to this...

The dreaded red slime by
Ken
Can old MH bulbs be the reason I am suddenly seeing red slime algae?
My 92 gal tank is an established tank that has been up and running of
about 1 1/2 years. It is a upgrade from a 55 gal that i have for 5-6
yeatrs. I have never had a problem with red slime algae or any other
algae for that...

Lighting question by
Dragon Slayer
I use 2 400w 20KK's on my 75 with no supplemental lighting at all,
everything in the tank does great and are growing like weeds. the only
reason to keep the PC's would be for personal eye pleasure to yourself, but
as you stated your happy with the MH's only, so rip em out.

Crabs, Damsels, and other musings.... by
Teeb
Yesterday I got two gorgeous, rather huge Emerald crabs who seem to be
making themselves right at home in my tank. One of them even began pulling
of chunks of hair algea and chowing down. I didn't know they'd eat that
stuff but I am not going to complain about it. However, the larger of the
two...

HI All - YES "Newbie" to SW. I do have two 120G FW tanks, one with Game

Trying to decide which will look better in my old 55G, SW fish and maybe
some Coral, or ALL the money I would probably spend on this SW hobby? The
money might not fit, need to buy...

Good quiet pump by

After taking in all your suggestions, and looking at specs, I went with the

is plenty strong. I had to throttle it back a bit with a ball valve. Now I
can return my Little Giant to the top off tank. Thanks all for your...

Coralife Aqualight Question (Was FAQ Review) by

Well, I most certainly DO want a reef setup... Eventually.
I just cant afford everything at once at the moment. My plan was to set up
a FO and eventually ease in to it.
Anyway, I have been researching lights and I really like the coralife
aqualight units.
Any thoughts on them? They are a PC...

Hello,
Our group has a 90g reef tank in our office. We will soon be moving
to the other end of the building, and I would like to take advantage
of the move to make some major changes to our setup. I've got a
bunch of questions related to overflows, sumps, and circulation.

New Tank Started by
[email protected]
Will post some pics of my new project: I build a stand for a 66gal
(48"x18"x18") tank. The tank is drilled in the back and will be
plumbed with an overflow and a return. I plan on a spraybar for the
return, hope to get some nice even flow. Lighting will be 4 48" VHO (2
x 6500K and 2 x 10,000K) plus...
